Although this coin is intended for silver bullion investors, the fact remains that 2008 is the first year of issue and this always will be the case, and that makes it a significant numismatic event. Initial sales of this coin far exceeded the available supply. However, ECI has been able to obtain a quantity of these coins and has had them encapsulated. The silver coin also has a smooth edge, (whereas the gold Vienna Philharmonic coin has a rilled edge.)
